Give More Love album review

"We still got a lot of playing to do..."
A line from the first track, "We're On The Road Again", of Ringo Starr's newest album Give More Love. The line rings true as Starr has no intentions of stopping anytime soon.

(To read more about the essentials of the album in a quick post I wrote last night, click here.)

At age seventy-seven, Starr has accomplished more than anyone could ever imagine, from spending a year in the hospital as a child to a major lifestyle switch including leading the British Invasion in the 1960s, marrying a Bond girl, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, numerous Grammy Award Winner, and spending the past few decades traveling with various, significant musicians with his All-Starr Band - and that's only mentioning a few events in the musicians life!

Starr has always had a way about him that unfailingly makes him lovable. In a world full of self-involved celebrity families and feuds, Ringo Starr provides consistent enthusiasm through his music and his message of Peace and Love, making damn sure it always has a place in the world. The drummer's optimism is radiated in everything he does. From grinning on stage at his wildly energetic concerts to his Twitter selfies; fans are never left disappointed or frowning the presence of his aura. With such high-spirits and jaunty personality what else would one expect from Ringo's nineteenth solo album, Give More Love , but to feel comfort and lightheartedness.

This album has songs that would reach a plethora of listeners as it flirts on the lines of rock'n'roll, country flare, and a breezy vibe, featuring countless friends, from ex-bandmate Paul McCartney to Heartbreakers Benmont Tench and many more! The album is sure to please any ear in more than one way.

Electrifying guitar skills are profoundly heard throughout the album providing an amazing accompaniment to Starr's powerful drumming. The album ranges from rockers, like "We're On The Road Again", featuring Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Steve Lukather and Edgar Winter, to a more somber, familiar Ringo style song "Show Me The Way", and even featuring tangy, country ballad tracks like "So Wrong For So Long" featuring Dave Stewart, which resonates and almost nostalgic feeling with Ringo's 1970 album Beaucoups of Blue

It's hard to not listen to this album and hear all of the talents of other musicians and not have a feeling of desolation, knowing that Starr's other Beatle brothers, John Lennon and George Harrison would have had took part in the recording process. However, although Lennon and Harrison have departed from the psychical world, fans and friends know that they couldn't be any prouder of their beloved band-mate. With that said, along with the ten tracks written for this album, Starr also re-released previous recording songs such as The Beatles "Don't Pass Me By".  As well as re-releasing The Beatles White Album track, Starr also re-recorded "Back Off Boogaloo" and "You Can't Fight Lightening".

Ringo has no agenda in "Standing Still". As far as he's concerned he will never stop doing what he loves; spreading the message of Peace and Love and playing music.

All and all if you're looking for an album that can soothe your rock and roll, country, Ringo Starr loving heart, Give More Love is the album for you!
